Peter Boyles, MD, FRCPCDr. Boyles is a true Maritimer, having been born and raised in New Brunswick. He received his medical degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax in 1987, and then went on to do a year of rotating internship at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. Dr. Boyles returned to Halifax to complete his psychiatric residency at Dalhousie finishing in 1992.
For the last 19 years, he has worked in emergency psychiatric services in Ottawa at many of the local teaching hospitals, and is now based at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus. Dr. Boyles has been the liaising psychiatrist to the Ottawa Police Mental Health Unit since its inception over eight years ago. He has always enjoyed teaching, and has been inspired by many great clinical educators and residents alike throughout his career. He has also won numerous awards via the psychiatric resident body at the University of Ottawa.
