Lakshmi Yatham

Dr. Yatham is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Director of the Institute of Mental Health at the University of British Columbia. The decorated researcher has won numerous awards, including the Michael Smith Foundation Senior Scholar Award, the CPA J.M. Cleghorn Award, and most recently, the Colvin Prize for Bipolar Mood Disorder Research. Dr. Yatham is one of the most highly cited researchers in psychiatry and psychology, according to reports by both Clarivite Analytics and Thomson Reuters, and his major areas of research interest include neurobiology and the treatment of bipolar disorder. He has held leadership positions for national and international professional organizations, including the President of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders, the Secretary for the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry (WFSBP), and he is now the President-Elect of the WFSBP.
