À la conclusion de cette activité, les participants seront en mesure de : 1) Understand key considerations for the transition from postgraduate training to clinical practice; 2) Identify personal and career-related goals, as well as resources to assist with achieving these; and 3) Develop mentoring relationships with colleagues from a diverse array of geographical and professional backgrounds.

This session will open with a panel discussion featuring several early career psychiatrists (ECPs) and moderated by a resident facilitator. Questions will focus on topics the ECPs wish they had received information on when they were in residency training, with time for an open question and answer period from audience members at the end. General thematic areas may include tips on preparing for the transition to practice and practice management, financial considerations, family planning, continuing professional development, seeking mentorship, and attending to personal well-being. Following the panel, the ECPs will divide among several breakout groups, with attendees circulating among the tables to ask more specific follow-up questions and engage in a deeper exploration of topics raised during the panel discussion. Refreshments will be provided.
