The CIHR – CPA Glenda M. MacQueen Memorial Career Development Award for Women in Psychiatry

Eligibility

For an application to be eligible, the Nominated Principal Applicant:

a) Must be an early career independent researcher (ECR) within the first five years* of their first academic appointment, minus standard CIHR eligible delays in research (e.g., maternity, parental, medical, bereavement).
b) Must be appointed at an eligible institution (see Institutional Eligibility Requirements for eligibility process and associated timelines).
c) Must self-identify as a woman and/or demonstrate a track record of supporting the career development of women in academic psychiatry. A one-page Mentorship and Capacity Building Statement describing how the applicant meets this requirement must be submitted with the application (see Application Instructions).
d) Must be a psychiatrist who is licensed to practise in a Canadian province and who is certified in psychiatry by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or by a provincial college.
e) Must be an Active or early career psychiatrist member in good standing of the CPA at the time of application.

*As a result of COVID-19, the term to qualify for ECR status has been extended to 0-84 months (or seven years) from 0-60 months (five years).
