Psyche – A Message from the CEO: Change is our rule, not the exception…

psyche-logo-190x60

by Glenn Brimacombe, CEO

Everywhere you look these days, the conversation is about change. In every facet of our lives, it seems that the pace of change is unrelenting and picking up speed rather than being calming and reassuring. I mention this because if there is one word that captures the CPA it is change, but in the best sense.

Like many national, voluntary professional associations, we understand that we must continue to evolve to meet the needs of current and prospective members through a variety of products and services across your professional life cycle.

I believe this past year has seen the CPA take some major steps forward – from our Annual Conference, The “new” CJP and CPD courses that add value to your clinical practice, to harnessing the voice of psychiatry to shape the public policy environment in which you practice medicine (think of MAID and an impending First Ministers’ Health Accord), to our new website.

Change is a dynamic process. In this regard, the CPA is considering other innovations that will enhance our relevance to you, and position ourselves as the one professional association you will want to join and be proud to support. Stay tuned…there is much more to come!
