MIT Elections: We are Looking for Candidates

Are you interested in joining the Member-in-Training Subcommittee of the Canadian Psychiatric Association? Residents in Canada who are CPA members in good standing are eligible to run for election to the subcommittee. If you are not a CPA MIT member, join and become eligible.

The CPA MIT Subcommittee aims to have the best possible representation of residents from all regions across Canada. This year, we require representatives from British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and the Prairies. We are also looking for a Social Media Liaison representative, who can come from anywhere in Canada. Positions are for a two-year term and candidates may be eligible for re-election.

To apply, prepare a short statement (maximum 150 words) that indicates your stage of training, your university, the relevant experience and the skills you bring to the committee, as well as your areas of interest. Submit your statement to Susan Adler at membership@cpa-apc.org by Friday, July 26, 2019, midnight PST.

Online voting will take place in August. New members begin their terms as of the CPA annual general meeting in September 2019. Questions? Please visit our website or contact the MIT Chair at mit@cpa-apc.org

“Through my involvement in CPA, the national voice of psychiatrists, I have the opportunity to learn from psychiatrists at the helm of championing change to our health care system. Within the MIT subcommittee, I am developing leadership and advocacy skills. I find hope and inspiration in witnessing CPA members collectively working to call for improved mental health.”
