At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1) Consolidate their knowledge and skills with best practices for their practice; 2) Enhance their practice with advanced and updated research, resources, tools, and tips from national experts; and 3) Discuss capacity building innovations that speaks to their practice or educational setting.
Working with patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) can be challenging and rewarding. What’s new? A lot! Our presentation will provide updates on best practices for any psychiatrist working with this diverse patient population with practical guidelines and tools. We will bring national expertise into the session with pre-recorded, incisive video “elevator talks” with links to key research and resources to enhance attendees’ expertise. Finally, join the discussion about innovations across Canada that enhance competencies and increase the capacity to provide care. The session is designed to strengthen and advance our collective and individual competencies in practice and education.
