À la conclusion de cette activité, les participants seront en mesure de : 1) Demonstrate knowledge of recovery of people with serious and (or) complex mental disorders; 2) Demonstrate knowledge of psychiatric/psychosocial rehabilitation; and 3) Demonstrate skills of person-centered mental health care planning.

People with serious or complex mental disorders such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder often need biopsychosocial care that is person-centered and evidence-based. Part of that is psychiatric/psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR), which comprises an established and growing set of practices but is not well known nor often taught in psychiatry. This course addresses this gap in knowledge by providing an updated introduction to PSR. The course, presented by a PSR-certified psychiatrist who has practised, led, taught, and published much research on PSR, uses interactive didactic learning with information provision and basic skills training on the recovery of people with mental health challenges. It focuses on PSR as a set of assessments and interventions that facilitate adaptive skills and supports to achieve satisfaction and success in environments of choice.
